About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of Fires issues for the Headquarters, Department of the Army Staff and Army Senior Leadership, focusing on DIVARTY fires.
  • Coordinate artillery modernization, procurement, and sustainment strategies in support of the Army’s Director for Fires.
  • Provide strategic input to the Army POM via the Continuous Capability Analysis and Assessment process.
  • Synchronize Fires policy, requirements, fiscal priorities, and resource implementation strategies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on U.S. and foreign cannon and rocket artillery systems, munitions, and employment.
  • Prepare high-level written products, including reports, briefings, and executive summaries, to defend Army staff positions and Program Budget Reviews.
  • Represent leadership in multiple programs, budget, and strategic forums.
  • Support the Army G3 and G8 staff in funding, fielding, and support missions for the artillery force.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Master’s Degree required.
  • 10-15 years of professional experience.
  • 10 years of experience within the Pentagon or an equivalent Combatant Command, Service, or Agency staff environment.
  • Ability to attain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS/SCI) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to define and coordinate Army requirements, acquisition, and programming processes for the Program Objective Memorandum (POM).
  • Proven ability to write for strategic-level leaders within the Army, Joint Staff, and Department of War.
  • Familiarity with Department of War/Office of the Secretary of War processes, planning, and resourcing.
  • Deep familiarity with Army and Joint Fire Support/Fires systems and capabilities.
