Divisional Director of Engineering and Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering aspects of major renovations, new developments, and capital expenditure projects
• Collaborate with Design & Construction teams to ensure engineering specifications, budgets, and timelines are met
• Provide leadership and guidance to hotel-level Directors of Engineering
• Develop and manage divisional engineering budgets (CapEx and OpEx)
• Manage and optimize energy consumption and sustainability initiatives
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships and negotiate contracts
• Ensure consistent engineering policies and best practices across the division
• Monitor and coordinate with external contractors for maintenance and repairs
• Achieve high maintenance standards across the portfolio, focusing on luxury guest experience details

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
• Proven track record managing large-scale construction and renovation projects
• In-depth knowledge of hotel engineering systems (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Water Treatment, Lifts, etc.)
• Knowledge of fire protection, detection, and communication systems
• Understanding of energy efficiency technologies and sustainability practices (LEED, BREAM, or EarthCheck)
• Experience in luxury hotel environments
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of project management and property management processes
• Experience renovating heritage properties
• Advanced computer skills in Maintenance software, BMS, and EMS
