Grade 10 education, 1 year related experience, Valid Class 5 driver's license, Ability to operate power tools, Physical fitness for outdoor work

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and construction of provincial infrastructure including roads, bridges, and culverts
  • Execute traffic control duties, including erecting and maintaining traffic control signs
  • Conduct ditching, bush cutting, and road surface maintenance
  • Assist in building and repairing steel or wooden bridges and guardrails
  • Operate small power tools and various portable equipment in outdoor environments

Requirements

  • Grade 10 education or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least one (1) year of related experience in survey, road construction, or building structures
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and an acceptable driver abstract
  • Physical fitness to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to operate power tools and work in confined spaces or at heights

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Traffic Control or Temporary Workplace Signage
  • Training in Confined Space, Fall Protection, or Chainsaw Safety
  • WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR certification
  • Experience with Erosion & Sediment Control or Transportation of Dangerous Goods
