About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice regarding land acquisition, land use, entitlement, zoning, and development
- Review and draft contracts, title documents, and land development agreements
- Review and revise homebuyer contract documents and advise on RESPA and FHA/VA compliance
- Manage homeowner association documents and provide guidance on HOA issues
- Assist in managing division litigation and coordinate with outside counsel
- Advise Human Resources on employment policies, safety programs, and OSHA compliance
- Review subcontractor contracts and assist in resolving disputes
- Provide legal guidance regarding construction, warranty, and customer disputes
Requirements
- Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.)
- 5-7 years of legal experience or training
- Licensed attorney in good standing with the relevant state bar association
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Ability to travel overnight as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in corporate or environmental law
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with high attention to detail
