Division Counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day commercial legal support and business-focused counseling to the Advanced Optics (AO) division leadership and strategy teams.
• Negotiate, review, and draft domestic and international sales, supply, service, and development agreements.
• Counsel professionals on highly regulated matters, including aerospace and defense contracts and semiconductor manufacturing.
• Identify business and legal risks and provide practical, strategic solutions to facilitate business success.
• Coordinate with intellectual property attorneys, corporate staff, and international Law Department team members to provide integrated guidance.
• Manage legal activities impacting the division globally in collaboration with regional counsels.
• Effectively manage outside counsel support.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA accredited law school.
• Applicable bar admission.
• 7+ years of combined experience as a practicing attorney at a top law firm, U.S. government agency, or in-house legal department.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex commercial transactions, intellectual property licensing, or U.S. Government programs.
• Demonstrated ability to structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial arrangements.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for communicating legal issues to diverse audiences.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently in an international, cross-functional team environment.
