Distribution Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve problems within the Distribution design area.
• Manage area construction activities for capital and O&M projects, including planning, estimating, and scheduling.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, technical documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Conduct engineering studies to improve system reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Process switching requests submitted to the Distribution Control Center.
• Remain available after hours to provide leadership and assistance during emergency restoration efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or Chemical).
• Strong understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
• Ability to research engineering issues, evaluate alternatives, and present sound recommendations.
• Ability to work after hours for emergency restoration and respond to urgent system needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Passing grade on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
• Experience with electric utility design standards and construction management practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and handle stressful situations effectively.
• Strong technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
