Distribution Engineer

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day engineering activities including service design, estimating, and coordinating construction for overhead and underground residential and business projects
• Prepare and schedule construction jobs to meet committed service dates while providing superior customer service
• Write and execute switching orders to maintain, operate, and assist in the distribution planning of the system for reliability
• Process all documentation in accordance with compliance requirements
• Handle customer inquiries such as voltage complaints and claims
• Participate in the on-call trouble supervision rotation, including availability for after-hours, local, and storm restoration efforts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (from an ABET accredited school), engineering technology, math, or science
• Proficiency in MS Office products
• Valid driver's license
• At least one year of verifiable driving experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the utility industry or a related field
• Previous distribution engineering experience with a power utility company
• Strong technical engineering skills and understanding of power systems
• Knowledge of electrical system operations and underground/overhead construction practices
