About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise and implement efficient inbound operations, including instructing employees and monitoring progress.
- Design and maintain organization for inbound freight scheduling, unloading, receiving docks, and stocking activities.
- Ensure adherence to all security and safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Lead and mentor warehouse associates, fostering a culture of engagement, empowerment, and problem-solving.
- Manage team schedules to ensure peak period coverage and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the reconciliation of received loads and the accurate processing of new freight and customer returns.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Protect company assets by ensuring proper equipment maintenance and facility security.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 1+ years of experience within a distribution center or similar environment.
- Forklift and pallet jack certification.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 60 lbs.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a distribution center environment.
- 1+ years of proven experience in a managerial or team leadership role.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
- Background in automotive or retail distribution centers.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Power BI, or similar analytical tools.
