Distribution and Transport Planning Manager

Responsibilities

• Own full P&L for the transport function, including budget setting, forecasting, and cost control
• Lead transport network design and optimization for locations, routes, and linehaul
• Manage middle mile haulage strategy, carrier selection, and contract negotiation
• Act as business owner for Transport Management System (TMS) in collaboration with technical teams
• Oversee final mile multidrop routes, intersite transfers, and inbound collections
• Plan B2C final mile delivery routes to ensure efficiency and customer experience
• Lead, develop, and manage the transport team and managers

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior transport management role with P&L responsibility
• Experience managing multidrop B2C delivery operations
• Strong understanding of UK transport networks, final mile, middle mile, and linehaul
• Experience managing haulage contracts and third-party providers
• Hands-on experience with TMS and YMS platforms
• CPC qualification
• Strong people leadership experience
