Distributed Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, and validation platforms on public cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Design, develop, and operate resilient distributed systems running across thousands of compute nodes in multiple data centers.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and write microservices on containerization frameworks such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Resolve complex technical issues to improve system availability, resilience, and performance.
• Balance live-site management, feature delivery, and technical debt retirement.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address complex problems in real-time.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, or Spinnaker.
• Deep knowledge of programming in Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby.
• Working experience with Falcon.
• Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
• Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience with critical infrastructure services including monitoring, alerting, and logging.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Public Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, or Alibaba).
• Experience contributing to open source technology such as Kubernetes or Argo.
