Distributed Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the observability platform, including data pipelines, decoration engines, and healthcheck frameworks
• Define and build the API surface for infrastructure to manage the hyperscale fleet
• Build the production control plane for unified machine management and distributed command execution
• Maintain fleet state as a machine-readable source of truth across provisioning and operations
• Integrate new hardware into the platform using ZTP, DHCP, and DNS

Requirements

• Experience shipping production services that other teams depend on at scale
• Ability to design robust APIs and avoid leaky abstractions
• Proficiency with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and incident management
• Ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly and navigate ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems and data pipeline engineering
• Knowledge of time-series observability stacks like Prometheus, Thanos, or VictoriaMetrics
• Experience with workflow orchestration engines such as Temporal or Cadence
• Familiarity with BMC/Redfish or hardware telemetry
• Proficiency in Go, Python, and Postgres
