Dispensing Pharmacist

Responsibilities

• Clinically check controlled drug prescriptions for medicinal cannabis
• Ensure timely availability and dispatch of medicines for patients
• Comply with regulatory requirements for ordering, receiving, storing, and dispensing medicines
• Maintain accurate records in line with GPhC standards
• Provide patient counselling on the safe use of medicines and specialised equipment
• Offer guidance to prescribers to minimise supply disruptions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure safe and compliant supply chains
• Act as the Responsible Pharmacist, maintaining security and supervising pharmacy staff
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to manage safe prescribing practices
• Maintain electronic health records and implement regulatory changes
• Support governance and operational teams to ensure GPhC and regulatory compliance
• Contribute to efficient pharmacy services through stock monitoring and audits

Requirements

• UK-qualified, registered Pharmacist with a valid GPhC number
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience

Preferred Qualifications

• CPD-accredited medical cannabis education
