Dispatcher, Motor Vehicle (OPFOR)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transport services by receiving requests via telephone or radio and scheduling drivers based on priority.
• Direct routing for various vehicle types, ranging from 1 ½ ton single axle trucks to 26,000-pound tractor-trailer combinations.
• Monitor truck locations and movement through constant radio, phone, or cellular contact to prevent delays.
• Manage routing direction and map files to ensure expeditious pickups and deliveries.
• Coordinate the acquisition of necessary permits for specific loads and convey information to drivers.
• Alert drivers regarding urgent conditions, including the transport of HAZMAT or radioactive materials.
• Complete all required paperwork, routine reports, and correspondence associated with dispatch operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of general experience and six months of specific dispatch or motor vehicle experience.
• Valid and current state driver's license.
• Knowledge of GCSS Army.
• US Citizenship is required to obtain facility credentials and authorization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance and a government Common Access Card (CAC).
• Proficiency in word processing and integrated software applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
