About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe, efficient, and timely dispatch of school buses by confirming driver and vehicle availability.
  • Assign substitute drivers to cover emergencies and absences as needed.
  • Monitor two-way radio communications and provide support to drivers during route operations.
  • Maintain daily operational records related to transportation activities.
  • Coordinate vehicle repair needs between drivers and the bus garage.
  • Assist parents with concerns regarding missed or delayed bus stops.
  • Ensure special education students are released only to authorized individuals.
  • Communicate important updates to bus drivers and operate a school bus when necessary to maintain coverage.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a bus driver, router, or in a comparable role.
  • Valid Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with School Bus and Passenger Endorsements.
  • U.S. citizenship or the legal right to work in the United States.
