Dispatch Database Officer

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the Flight Planning Navigation Database and associated applications
• Provide operational support for Flight Dispatch, including aeronautical data analysis
• Analyze aeronautical information from NOTAM & AIPs and perform immediate database updates
• Identify and implement flight planning system restrictions
• Update and maintain aircraft data for flight planning purposes
• Support flight planning during disruption scenarios like volcanic eruptions or airspace closures
• Interpret and apply Flight Dispatch and Qantas Fuel policies and procedures
• Identify error trends and suggest process improvements

Requirements

• Experience working in an operational environment
• Strong background in aviation including airport infrastructure and airspace structure
• Ability to read and interpret aeronautical information in NOTAMs & AIP SUPs
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize conflicting tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster in a 24/7 shift environment
