About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the Flight Planning Navigation Database and associated applications
- Provide operational support for Flight Dispatch, including aeronautical data analysis
- Analyze aeronautical information from NOTAM & AIPs and perform immediate database updates
- Identify and implement flight planning system restrictions
- Update and maintain aircraft data for flight planning purposes
- Support flight planning during disruption scenarios like volcanic eruptions or airspace closures
- Interpret and apply Flight Dispatch and Qantas Fuel policies and procedures
- Identify error trends and suggest process improvements
Requirements
- Experience working in an operational environment
- Strong background in aviation including airport infrastructure and airspace structure
- Ability to read and interpret aeronautical information in NOTAMs & AIP SUPs
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize conflicting tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster in a 24/7 shift environment
