About the role
About the Company
The Nassau County District Attorney's Office investigates and prosecutes violations of state and local criminal statutes occurring within Nassau County. With nearly 200 attorneys and a total staff in excess of 400, it is one of the largest district attorney's offices in the country.
Responsibilities
- Utilize law enforcement networks and databases to gather and maintain evidentiary materials for criminal cases
- Prepare materials for dissemination to defense attorneys through the discovery process
- Conduct evidence and document collection based on priority deadlines
- Act as a liaison between the District Attorney, County Attorney, and various law enforcement entities
- Convert physical documents to digital formats and manage internal databases
- Redact private or personal information from discovery materials under supervision
- Provide defendants with necessary discovery materials within allowable timeframes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university
- Must be a Nassau County resident for at least 12 months
- Knowledge of legal terminology, documents, and forms
- Ability to operate computerized evidence management systems
- Ability to work effectively under severe time constraints
