Disability Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans to ensure individual needs are met
• Provide support with high-intensity daily personal activities, including peg feeding and catheter care
• Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful community and lifestyle activities
• Maintain thorough and accurate record keeping regarding client progress and care
• Build positive, respectful relationships with clients, their families, and colleagues
• Advocate for client choice, control, and independence in their daily lives

Requirements

• Proven experience working with people living with disability
• Experience managing behaviours of concern and high medical needs
• Experience with manual handling and hoisting techniques
• Unrestricted Australian driver’s licence and confidence driving large wheelchair vans
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Ability to work a variety of casual shifts, including early mornings, split shifts, and active night shifts
