About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the U.S. employee benefits function, ensuring competitive and compliant program design.
- Lead the design, implementation, and administration of all U.S. benefit plans, including health, welfare, retirement, and time-off programs.
- Manage the U.S. employee benefits budget, including forecasting, expense management, and cost-containment initiatives.
- Lead the annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes, including vendor negotiations and employee communications.
- Oversee relationships with benefits consultants, brokers, and vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing employee benefits.
- Partner with HR Centers of Excellence, Finance, and Legal to support integrated benefits delivery and strategic initiatives like mergers and acquisitions.
- Lead and develop a team of employee benefits professionals in a complex, matrixed environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits or related specialist experience.
- 4+ years of direct people management experience, including interaction with senior and executive leadership.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. employee benefits programs, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a complex, matrixed organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a broader Total Rewards environment (compensation, wellbeing, or recognition).
- Experience supporting large, multi-entity, or highly regulated organizations.
- Professional certifications such as CEBS or equivalent.
