About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the MD & US CISO in building robust US technology risk controls and processes, including Cyber, Availability, Resiliency, and Operational Risk.
- Act as a key member of the 1st Line of Defense (1B) to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations, internal policies, and organizational risk practices.
- Partner with senior executives across US CIO, Global CISO, Risk, Operations, Compliance, and Legal teams to deliver improved regulatory outcomes.
- Lead the identification, assessment, and prioritization of technology risks, ensuring all observations and issues are tracked and remediated.
- Oversee technology risk control testing, monitoring, and the development of KPI/KRI reporting for senior management and risk committees.
- Coordinate SOX control testing, facilitate evidence collection, and prepare quarterly attestations.
- Champion a strong risk culture and ensure information security architectures are effectively communicated and leveraged across business lines.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in technology and non-financial risk management (governance, operations, audit, cyber, or compliance).
- Expert knowledge of technology risk management areas including internal controls, systems design, security, disaster recovery, and third-party risk.
- Proven leadership experience in risk or cybersecurity, preferably within US regulatory environments and Global Banking and Markets.
- Deep understanding of risk/control frameworks such as ITIL, ISO, COBIT, NIST, or FFIEC.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to present to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, COBIT, or ITIL V3 Foundation.
- Experience with cloud controls and data analytics/visual dashboarding.
