About the role

Responsibilities

  • Set regional direction for trade across APAC and Mainland China, balancing global standards with local regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the senior regional leader for customs and agency engagement, leading audits, inquiries, and trade controversies.
  • Define and govern the regional customs broker strategy, including SOW approval, KPI monitoring, and conducting quarterly business reviews.
  • Ensure entry quality and compliance by establishing risk-based controls and owning regional entry accuracy performance.
  • Lead duty stewardship by managing accurate duty and tax payments, reconciliations, and reporting on spend and savings.
  • Oversee Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and duty-optimization programs to ensure eligibility and realize cost savings.
  • Manage the regional operating model and talent strategy, leading a multi-country organization and developing future leaders.
  • Act as the regional owner for trade systems and data stewardship to ensure high-quality trade data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in global trade compliance, customs operations, or regulatory trade roles.
  • Significant professional experience operating within APAC and China markets.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-country teams in complex regulatory environments.
  • Deep expertise in customs compliance, broker management, and duty optimization.
  • Strong capability in regulatory engagement and audit leadership.
  • Executive-level stakeholder management skills across Legal, Finance, Operations, and Technology functions.
