Director, Test Engineering

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale a distributed software test engineering team across the U.S., Spain, and India
• Own the end-to-end quality architecture and test strategy for mobile applications, biosensor data pipelines, and AI/ML models
• Lead verification strategy for CGM and biosensor data integrity to ensure accurate and auditable consumer insights
• Establish CI/CD integration standards for automated test suites to ensure fast and actionable quality signals
• Serve as the primary engineering owner for test-related compliance, including audit readiness and regulatory evidence
• Partner with Product, Data Science, and Regulatory Affairs to align testing practices with FDA, HIPAA, and GDPR requirements
• Build post-deployment monitoring and observability capabilities for real-time visibility into production quality signals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 15+ years in software or test engineering, including 5+ years leading global quality teams
• Hands-on experience in mobile quality engineering for iOS and Android at scale
• Experience with quality strategy for data-intensive platforms, such as IoT or sensor data pipelines
• Proficiency with modern automation frameworks including Appium, XCTest, or Espresso
• Working knowledge of regulatory standards including IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Part 820
• Proven ability to build and scale engineering functions, including hiring and organizational design

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling engineering teams across US, European, and Asian geographies
• Background in AI/ML system testing, including model validation and drift detection
• Experience with CGM, bio-wearable, or medical device software quality
• Experience supporting Regulatory Affairs/QA teams during FDA or CE mark audits
• Proficiency with non-functional and performance testing tools like Locust, JMeter, or k6
