About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a thought partner to the EVP, shaping priorities and maintaining a risk and decision log
- Translate strategy into OKRs, KPIs, and investment theses
- Lead annual and quarterly planning including capacity and headcount
- Run the technical RFC process and technology review cadence
- Partner with platform, data, ML, and security leaders to ensure alignment across cloud and AI initiatives
- Lead build-vs-buy analysis with TCO/ROI and vendor diligence
- Champion engineering health metrics such as SLIs/SLOs, DORA, and SPACE
- Build and run leadership cadences including weekly staff, QBRs, and offsites
- Improve visibility and accountability through dashboards, scorecards, and postmortems
- Partner with Finance, HR, and Procurement on budgets and hiring pipelines
- Maintain the enterprise technology portfolio and resolve cross-team trade-offs
- Oversee tier-1 incidents and ensure incident RCAs drive systemic fixes
- Apply Agile, Lean, and Fast-Flow principles to improve efficiency
- Craft EVP-level communications for board updates and town halls
- Lead change-management initiatives in org design and culture
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar
- 12+ years in technology roles (Engineering, Architecture, Product/TPM)
- Experience operating at senior levels in a 500+ employee tech organization
- Ability to evaluate technical designs including cloud architecture, data platforms, and AI/ML services
- Track record running large cross-functional programs in ambiguous environments
- Strong working knowledge of Team Topologies
- Hands-on familiarity with AWS/GCP, Snowflake, observability, CI/CD, and container orchestration
- Experience with DORA/SPACE metrics and reliability practices
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Chief of Staff or similar strategic leadership experience
