About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic vision and programmatic stewardship for the Tartan Scholars Program to enhance success for high-achieving students from limited-resource backgrounds.
  • Design and implement academic support frameworks and interventions to help scholars master rigorous curricula.
  • Cultivate strategic alliances across campus departments, including Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, and individual undergraduate colleges.
  • Oversee the delivery of cohort experiences, including transition events, summer connections, and peer mentorship models.
  • Supervise, coach, and manage professional program staff to ensure high-quality student engagement.
  • Utilize data-informed decision-making to track student persistence, graduation rates, and overall programmatic efficacy.
  • Chair the Tartan Scholars Advisory Committee and report outcomes to university-level governance committees.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, higher education, leadership development, counseling, or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within a higher education institution.
  • Proven experience in staff supervision and leading student-facing initiatives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree with explicit knowledge of student development and learning theory.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional work experience in higher education leadership.
  • Documented track record of individual student advocacy and successful management of full-time professional staff.
  • Direct experience with support program assessment and data management.
