Director - Systems Engineering

Responsibilities

• Direct and mentor a team of senior systems engineers, fostering collaboration and driving performance management
• Serve as a strategic business portfolio owner responsible for planning and engineering organizational systems infrastructure
• Develop long-range plans, strategies, and performance metrics for the systems engineering function
• Oversee the development, implementation, and integration of systems while ensuring adherence to project budgets and timelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leaders to align system solutions with organizational objectives
• Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement technical solutions
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, security standards, and industry best practices
• Establish and enforce operational rigor, including standardized processes and governance frameworks

Requirements

• 10+ years of systems engineering experience, specifically in enterprise deployment of infrastructure components
• 5+ years of experience leading large, senior-level engineering teams
• 5+ years of experience maintaining a business portfolio for service delivery using project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
• 5+ years of experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to system performance
• 5+ years of experience developing technical documentation, reports, and stakeholder presentations
• 5+ years of experience evaluating and selecting vendors for system components and services
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead through other leaders and build high-performing management layers
• Experience managing teams in high-pressure, high-availability environments with strict SLA requirements
• Strong track record of translating business objectives into executable engineering strategies
• Prior experience within the financial services industry
