Director, Supplier Development Engineering

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a high-performing Supplier Development Engineering team
• Set and execute supplier development strategy, reliability roadmap, and SQMS processes
• Drive supplier performance management using key metrics and scorecards
• Own major supplier risk escalation and resolution using disciplined problem solving
• Lead cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
• Oversee technical and operational execution including APQP, DFM, DFA, and PPAP approvals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or related)
• 10+ years of experience in Supplier Industrialization, Supplier Development, or Manufacturing Engineering
• 5+ years of direct people management experience
• Expert knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FAIRs, PFMEA)
• Proven ability to build processes from the ground up
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the work week

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering
• Professional certification (Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ CMQ/OE, or PMP)
• Familiarity with high-volume inspection and data-driven acceptance methods
• Knowledge of enterprise applications (PLM, ERP, MES) and data analysis
