Director, Student Services, High School

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and implement a comprehensive student services and counseling program covering academic, career, and personal/social development.
• Collaborate with department heads to determine course needs, descriptions, and student placements.
• Prepare, implement, and communicate the organization of the master schedule.
• Participate in the selection, supervision, and evaluation of counseling staff and academic program personnel.
• Organize and direct student registrations, orientations, transcripts, and standardized testing programs.
• Oversee the maintenance of student records and ensure accurate data collection for regular and special reports.
• Counsel students and families regarding post-secondary options and graduation requirements.
• Enforce School Board policies regarding grading and attendance.
• Assist with the interpretation of School Board policies to students, staff, and the community.

Requirements

• Master's degree.
• Four (4) years of experience in counseling or teaching.
• Postgraduate educational license with endorsements in school counseling or in administration and supervision PreK-12.
• Knowledge of school counseling techniques, programs, and practices.
• Knowledge of adolescent psychology, growth, and development.
• Knowledge of master schedule development.
• Ability to assign, supervise, oversee, and evaluate a staff of school counselors and support personnel.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
