About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic, relational, and operational leadership for a portfolio advancing student belonging, engagement, and co-curricular learning.
- Manage a team of professional staff specializing in orientation, mentorship, leadership development, and multi-faith engagement.
- Oversee human resources, labour relations, and financial management, including budget preparation and compliance with collective agreements.
- Build partnerships across a decentralized institutional environment, including colleges, faculties, and community organizations.
- Implement evidence-informed programming and organizational changes to meet evolving student needs.
- Mitigate risk regarding on-campus and off-campus activities, including those managed by student organizations.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in higher education, adult education, social work, public administration, community development, leadership, equity studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in progressively senior student affairs positions.
- Proven experience in the development, implementation, and assessment of student-facing programs and services.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and supporting staff within a unionized or complex policy environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in program assessment, qualitative and quantitative data translation, and strategic decision-making.
- Strong facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends during peak periods.
