Director, Strategic Planning & Operations

Responsibilities

• Serve as Chief of Staff for a functional Vice President, overseeing the collection and communication of information that informs departmental strategy.
• Support the development and implementation of function-specific business visions, strategic priorities, and success metrics.
• Act as a strategic advisor to leadership in designing and executing business management routines, including headcount management and talent reviews.
• Partner with Clinical Sciences leadership to monitor and optimize departmental operational excellence.
• Lead long-term strategic planning efforts, identifying and tracking priority initiatives of strategic importance.
• Facilitate cross-functional linkage and influence between departments and internal/external partners to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Manage departmental communications, including the development of strategic messages and material packaging for various audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor, Master, or advanced degree in a Science or Business-related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role, such as Chief of Staff.
• Proven strategic thinking skills with a demonstrated drive for results.
• Strong analytical orientation and the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and mentoring/coaching skills.
• High emotional intelligence (EQ) and experience in relationship building across complex organizations.
• Proficiency in project management practices, portfolio review, finance, and budgeting.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
