Director - Solution Architecture, Financial Services

Responsibilities

• Define and own the solution architecture vision and roadmap for enterprise-scale financial services engagements
• Lead architecture design across applications, integrations, and infrastructure to ensure alignment with business objectives
• Drive modernization initiatives through cloud-native designs, microservices, and emerging technologies
• Collaborate with client executives and delivery leadership to shape solution proposals and outcomes
• Ensure governance for solution architecture and mitigate architectural risks throughout program phases
• Assess and recommend new technologies, including Gen-AI strategies for financial use cases
• Guide pre-sales pursuits by driving solution shaping, RFP/RFI responses, and executive presentations

Requirements

• 15+ years of IT experience, including at least 7+ years in solution architecture roles
• Deep expertise in financial services domains such as banking, capital markets, or payments
• Proven ability to lead enterprise architecture for large-scale transformation programs
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integration frameworks
• Familiarity with financial regulations including DORA, MiFID II, PSD2/3, Basel IV, and GDPR
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture standards such as TOGAF or Zachman
• Practical knowledge of Gen-AI tools and their application in architecture and delivery
• Fluency in both English and German
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering digital banking or capital markets modernization programs
• Familiarity with FS data platforms, Open Banking API ecosystems, and event-driven architectures
• Professional certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional or TOGAF
