Director Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of Nike’s Product Design and Development platforms and experiences in Bengaluru.
• Manage and develop high-performing engineering teams, including planning capacity for scalable delivery.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to align technical execution with organizational priorities.
• Drive engineering excellence by championing modern web application design and cloud-based service architectures.
• Manage third-party engagements and vendor relationships.
• Lead a software delivery organization to innovate and deliver business value at scale.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of experience leading high-performing software engineering teams, with at least 5+ years managing direct reports.
• Hands-on knowledge of front-end technologies (Javascript, Typescript, React, Vue, or Angular) and backend technologies (Java, Node.js, or Python).
• Experience with AWS cloud-native distributed systems (EC2, ECS, DynamoDB, Lambdas, S3, etc.).
• Proven experience with Agile software development, DevOps, and micro-services architectures.
• Strong ability to create technical architecture diagrams, API specifications, and data models.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 3D design tools such as Blender, Rhino, or CLO.
• Background in visualization, game development, or AI/ML solutions.
