Director, Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the global software engineering strategy aligned with ASM’s business objectives
• Develop and maintain a multi-year software roadmap across multiple product lines and technology platforms
• Build and lead a world-class software engineering organization across multiple global sites
• Mentor and develop senior engineering leaders and managers to foster technical excellence
• Partner with Product Management, Hardware, and Process Engineering to deliver integrated solutions
• Oversee execution of multiple concurrent software programs, ensuring timely delivery and high quality
• Implement best practices in software lifecycle management, including CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile methodologies
• Guide software architecture decisions to support modularity, reuse, and future extensibility

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering
• 8+ years of experience in leadership roles
• Proven track record of leading large-scale software organizations and delivering complex products
• Strong background in C++ and modern software development practices
• Experience leading globally distributed teams and managing cross-functional initiatives
• Strong expertise in software architecture, release planning, and baseline management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry
• Familiarity with technologies such as ALD, PECVD, epitaxy, and vertical furnaces
• Experience working in fast-paced, customer-driven environments
• Proficiency with tools like Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of software quality assurance and regulatory compliance
