Responsibilities

• Lead a group of engineering managers and their squads, owning delivery, quality, and people development
• Partner with Product and Business stakeholders to anticipate hurdles and co-own the "why" behind builds
• Maintain a clear and prioritized roadmap at a 1-2 quarter horizon
• Set high urgency and performance expectations and monitor team performance
• Develop squad leads into strong managers through ownership and support
• Champion engineering concerns like scope, deadlines, and technical sustainability to leadership
• Drive recruiting efforts including sourcing, interviewing, and closing high-bar candidates
• Ensure automated testing, QA practices, and tech debt management are owned by teams
• Lead incident triage and ensure the right resources are engaged
• Own and drive the in-office culture for your teams

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering managers
• Proven track record in performance management, including delivering hard feedback and improvement plans
• Ability to maintain a 1-2 quarter planning view while overseeing day-to-day delivery
• Technical depth sufficient to participate in architecture discussions and code reviews
• Strong understanding of team velocity, engagement, and trust
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment rather than a slow-moving large organization
