Director, Site Reliability Engineering

Responsibilities

• Own property-level system reliability outcomes, including oversight of device-only networks and overall property health performance
• Drive adoption and effective utilization of SmartRent tools and services through monitoring and continuous improvement
• Establish proactive detection and response frameworks to identify localized system issues
• Partner with Engineering leadership to design and implement observability tools and processes
• Define, document, and enforce standardized operational processes
• Lead strategic oversight of IoT support operations and escalation management frameworks
• Oversee validation and controlled deployment of IoT firmware updates

Requirements

• 3+ years of people management experience
• Experience in network operations (wired and wireless environments)
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools like Datadog or Observe
• Strong troubleshooting expertise and technical documentation skills
• Foundational programming, scripting, and automation skills
• Working knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS
• Proven ability to design and sustain scalable operational processes
