About the role
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Chief Risk Officer to define long-term organizational strategy, operating models, and execution plans.
- Lead strategic initiatives spanning Fraud, Credit, Collections, and Operational Risk.
- Translate complex analytical and technical work into clear business strategies, executive communications, and actionable roadmaps.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to ensure risk initiatives are prioritized and effectively executed.
- Develop frameworks to evaluate tradeoffs between customer experience, portfolio performance, and business growth.
- Establish planning processes, governance, and operating mechanisms to improve transparency and decision-making.
- Prepare executive presentations, board materials, and business reviews to communicate the Risk organization's impact.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, risk strategy, or consulting within FinTech or financial services.
- Proven experience partnering with senior executives to drive organizational planning and complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong understanding of financial services risk, including Fraud, Credit, Collections, or Payments.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and the ability to navigate ambiguity using first-principles problem-solving.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Data-driven mindset with comfort using data to inform strategic decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in consumer lending, credit cards, or regulated financial services environments.
- Background in leading organizational transformation or strategic planning in high-growth companies.
- Familiarity with underwriting, portfolio management, or payments infrastructure.
- MBA or equivalent experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy.
