About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of the Faculty research strategy, aligning school activities with University frameworks and impact priorities
  • Oversee research funding pipelines, pre-award support, and income forecasting to ensure high-quality, competitive grant applications
  • Strengthen strategic partnerships with government, schools, industry, and community partners
  • Coordinate engagement and translation initiatives, including activities for the Melbourne Education Clinic
  • Direct research performance reporting and analytics to provide evidence-based insights for resource allocation and planning
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Research Performance staff through collaborative and service-focused support models

Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience in research management, development, or partnerships
  • Proven senior leadership experience guiding teams and portfolios within complex organizations
  • Deep knowledge of research funding landscapes, pre-award processes, and compliance frameworks
  • Advanced analytical skills to interpret research performance data and provide strategic advice
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence academics, partners, and professional staff
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex workflows in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid Working with Children Check (or eligibility to obtain one)
