Director, R&D

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the LBS CH China R&D organization to align with global business objectives.
• Lead multidisciplinary R&D teams across mechanical, electronics, software, systems, and V&V disciplines.
• Drive innovation by linking R&D strategies directly to long-term commercial growth and market advantages.
• Partner with the VP/GM Site Leader to define and execute the R&D strategy and technology roadmap in China.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, manufacturing, and supply chain to achieve KPIs such as On-Time Delivery and cost optimization.
• Build and develop a high-performing R&D organization while fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Apply Danaher Business System (DBS) tools to drive process optimization and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
• Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams within multinational companies.
• Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary R&D teams specifically within the medical device industry.
• Native Chinese fluency and excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate and influence within a matrix organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pathology equipment R&D.
• Experience in intelligent diagnostic R&D.
