About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the global Quality Engineering team, managing the relationship between Commercial & Business Banking Engineering and ScotiaTech.
- Own the Quality Engineering strategy, roadmaps, standards, and policies to influence product quality at scale.
- Drive the adoption of AI-powered testing, cloud-based device farms, and next-generation automation frameworks.
- Implement transformative technology initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate time to market.
- Build strong relationships with business partners, technology stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
- Manage operating and project budgets, providing necessary data to support business cases.
- Foster a high-performance, inclusive culture by implementing people strategies that attract, develop, and motivate team members.
- Ensure all quality assurance plans and initiatives comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and risk management protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership role with a focus on application development, technical architecture, data, or delivery.
- Significant experience leading complex solution implementations and managing large teams (50-100 resources).
- Experience managing both operating budgets and project-specific budgets.
- Strong expertise in vendor management, including product assessment, selection, and contract negotiation.
- Advanced project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities under pressure.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial/accounting skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for senior management and business stakeholders.
