Director, Quality

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company's quality strategy in alignment with product development and manufacturing scale-up objectives
• Build and lead the quality function, including future hiring, team development, and organizational growth
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics
• Develop supplier quality programs, including qualification, audits, and performance monitoring
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a scalable Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 standards
• Lead ISO 9001 certification efforts and ongoing compliance activities
• Operationalize core quality processes including NCR, IQC, MRB, and CAPA
• Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline
• 10+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality systems, or manufacturing quality
• Proven experience building and implementing a QMS from the ground up
• Demonstrated success achieving and maintaining ISO 9001 certification
• Experience in hardware manufacturing environments (energy, industrial equipment, automotive, or aerospace)
• Strong knowledge of NCR, IQC, MRB, and CAPA processes
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electrochemical systems or hydrogen technologies
• Professional certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
• Experience with global supplier networks and contract manufacturers
