Director, Public Affairs

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a proactive policy agenda regarding energy, water use, and economic development
• Track and analyze the impacts of federal and state legislation and tax incentives
• Advocate for regulatory outcomes such as accelerated interconnection and data center incentives
• Serve as the primary liaison with federal agencies, Congressional offices, and state regulatory commissions
• Partner with tax and economic development functions to maximize available incentives
• Build and mentor a high-performing Regulatory & Government Affairs team
• Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on policy trends and emerging risks

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in government affairs, regulatory strategy, or public policy leadership
• Deep understanding of the U.S. regulatory landscape, energy markets, and utilities
• Demonstrated success engaging with federal and state policymakers and regulators
• Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional initiatives
• Strong strategic thinking and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with state utility commissions or federal agencies like DOE and FERC
• Experience with economic development incentives and tax policy
