Director, Production

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of production managers, chemists, and technicians in the day-to-day manufacturing of peptides and oligonucleotides
• Monitor production activities and adjust schedules to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to customer specifications
• Develop and implement process improvements to optimize production speed, quality, and efficiency
• Establish, enforce, and update production and quality standards in accordance with cGMP guidelines
• Manage departmental personnel, including hiring, training, and developing growth opportunities for employees
• Oversee production budgets and implement cost-control measures as necessary
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing safety policies and investigating incidents
• Create production reports and documentation for review by top executives

Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR
• Master's Degree in a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience; OR
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 15+ years of relevant experience
• Proven experience managing large teams of 20+ people within a cGMP environment
• Direct experience in peptide and/or oligonucleotide manufacturing (upstream or downstream)
• Proficiency in large-scale manufacturing and process development
• Strong technical knowledge of chemistry and in-process analytical methods
• Excellent communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
