Director, Product Cost Excellence and Value Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead Product Cost Excellence and Value Engineering initiatives within product development
• Drive execution of product cost excellence strategy across programs and platforms
• Drive adoption of governance, operating cadence, and KPI tracking for cost optimization
• Lead cross-functional cost optimization workshops with internal teams and suppliers
• Apply value engineering, design-to-value, and should-cost analysis methods
• Develop business cases for cost optimization initiatives including savings and financial impact
• Collaborate with suppliers to identify productivity, localization, and logistics efficiencies
• Leverage data-driven cost analytics and digital workflows
• Lead and develop a team of product cost optimization and value engineering specialists

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in automotive engineering, procurement, or cost management
• Proven success leading cost optimization and value engineering in complex environments
• Strong understanding of vehicle systems and product development processes
• Experience with value analysis, should-cost modeling, and teardown analysis
• Ability to translate technical opportunities into clear business cases
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration
• Strong financial acumen and analytical capability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with digital tools, advanced analytics, or AI-enabled workflows in product development
