About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for project management, portfolio management, and business analysis capabilities.
- Evaluate and evolve PMO processes, tools, and governance to support waterfall, agile, and hybrid delivery approaches.
- Lead enterprise portfolio intake, prioritization, and execution in partnership with the CIO.
- Engage campus leaders to align IT initiatives with institutional strategic priorities and resource capacity.
- Manage project and portfolio-level financial planning, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Lead and develop project management and business analysis teams through coaching and mentoring.
- Drive continuous improvement and organizational change management efforts across the university.
- Oversee project-related vendor engagements and contracts to ensure alignment with university procurement practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Progressive experience leading complex IT initiatives, including project delivery and portfolio management.
- Demonstrated ability to design and mature PMO practices, including governance and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of various project delivery methodologies.
- Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and investment alignment.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder engagement, and business relationship management skills.
- Experience leading organizational change management and process adoption.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience in higher education or a similarly complex enterprise environment.
- Experience leading PMO transformations or continuous improvement functions.
- Advanced experience with portfolio metrics and executive reporting.
