Director, Platform Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead a new platform engineering team focused on in-house software development, AI-enabled workflows, and production readiness
• Establish standards and readiness gates for transitioning solutions from concept and POC to full production
• Partner with FOX Technology and Broadcast Engineering to mature internal tools supporting operational workflows
• Create and improve workflows for CI/CD, testing, deployment, release management, and documentation
• Serve as a technical gatecheck for AI-assisted development to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainable
• Guide the responsible use of LLMs, Python libraries, and emerging agentic workflows
• Mentor and develop a team of software engineers focused on building internal platforms and tools

Requirements

• Experience leading software, platform, DevOps, MLOps, or infrastructure engineering teams
• Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, testing, deployment, and release management
• Proven experience taking internal tools or technical products from concept into production
• Strong proficiency with Python and modern software engineering practices
• Experience with AI workflows, LLMs, model deployment, inference, or AI-enabled application development
• Experience with GPU compute, local model training, or high-performance computing environments
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Google Cloud
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical risks and tradeoffs to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in media, broadcast technology, streaming, or content distribution
• Experience building internal developer platforms, AI sandboxes, or model governance frameworks
• Experience with NVIDIA Holoscan or similar accelerated computing ecosystems
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field
