Director, PD Development and Integration

About the Company

Avicena is a privately held company developing microLED based ultra-low power high bandwidth interconnects for chip-to-chip communications. This technology will revolutionize High-Performance (HPC) and Cloud computing, as well as other industries where low power interconnects are critical like camera sensors, autonomous vehicles, and aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of innovative PD designs optimized for applications
• Manage foundry partnerships, including design transfer and process modifications
• Oversee development and implementation of wafer testing strategies and vendor management
• Collaborate with vendors to manage final test processes for packaged devices
• Establish qualification of manufacturing flows to industry standards

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Physics
• Proven experience managing foundry partnerships or processes
• Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics and characterization techniques
• Familiarity with semiconductor wafer fabrication processes (photolithography, thin-film deposition, etching)
• Experience overseeing high-speed optoelectronics testing
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with packaging technologies including hybrid bonding and wafer stacking
