Director, Patient Advocacy and Operations

Responsibilities

• Partner with advocacy leaders and the patient community to execute patient advocacy strategy and foster strategic relationships.
• Lead the planning and management of Patient Community Advisory Panels and Boards.
• Support clinical trial awareness and recruitment efforts through community-focused initiatives.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Marketing, and R&D to integrate the patient voice into clinical trial design and commercialization.
• Plan and execute presence at patient advocacy and scientific conferences, including event planning and session development.
• Serve as the operational lead for Patient Advocacy Grants, Sponsorships & Donations, including budget oversight and end-to-end management.
• Manage patient engagement-related contracting and lead operational processes for Medical Legal Review (MLR).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (social work, genetic counseling, nursing, or public health preferred).
• Minimum of 10+ years of related experience.
• 8+ years of experience in patient advocacy within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven experience developing partnerships with patient advocacy organizations and community leaders.
• Deep understanding of rare diseases and Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD).
• Experience managing budgets, teams, and compliance-sensitive partnerships in a regulated environment.
• Strong project, vendor, and budget management capabilities.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual fluency in Spanish.
