About the role

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee monitoring of the effectiveness, efficiency, and operational integrity of Public Assistance and Food Stamp programs
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of new initiatives for FIA Center Operations management
  • Oversee the implementation of "best practices" plans and recommend policy initiatives for Job Centers and Food Stamp offices
  • Prepare comprehensive reports with findings and recommendations for improved effectiveness
  • Conduct feasibility studies for implementing various operational initiatives under the Welfare Reform Act
  • Represent the Deputy Commissioner at high-level meetings with Federal, State, City, and Community officials
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of corrective action plans mandated by governing agencies
  • Communicate with other HRA departments and governmental entities to improve workflow and service delivery

Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics, finance, public administration, or a related field plus two years of professional experience, including 18 months in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • OR a Baccalaureate degree plus four years of professional experience, including 18 months in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • Experience in budget administration, operations research, program evaluation, or social services program planning
  • Must be permanent in the Administrative Staff Analyst civil service title or eligible for 6.1.9 title change
