Director of Vendor Compliance & Technical Operations

Responsibilities

• Oversee and enforce a comprehensive Vendor Code of Conduct, ensuring compliance with global labor standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
• Establish standardized Quality Control (QC) inspection protocols and lead teams or third-party agencies in conducting factory audits and inspections.
• Manage the Top Of Production (TOP) approval process to ensure samples move through delivery phases with maximum efficiency.
• Act as the primary liaison between the brand and global vendors to transition relationships from transactional to strategic partnerships.
• Develop and manage vendor scorecards to track key performance indicators including on-time delivery, defect rates, and compliance adherence.
• Lead negotiations regarding chargebacks, quality failures, and delivery delays.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Global Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Quality Assurance.
• 5+ years in a leadership role within the apparel industry.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, raw material testing, and technical fits.
• Familiarity with children’s apparel regulatory testing and Prop 65.
• Proven experience managing vendor compliance within a high-velocity, fast-fashion environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and a diplomatic approach to maintaining supplier relationships.
