Director of Trading & Procurement

Responsibilities

• Build and run the procurement machine by developing and executing strategies for high-volume monthly spend
• Lead and develop a team of 10+ members, providing coaching and daily prioritization
• Design and implement scalable procurement workflows, playbooks, and controls
• Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to maintain a high-quality network
• Drive margin improvement through cost-saving opportunities and optimized purchasing decisions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Logistics, Accounting, and Product teams
• Leverage data and AI tools to automate and scale procurement operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a top university or business school
• 2–5 years of experience in Tier-1 strategy consulting or commodity trading/high-velocity B2B procurement
• Proven ability to build scalable processes and delegate effectively
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a young team
• Ability to operate at both strategic and granular levels
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Fluency in English; German is a plus
• Comfortable in a high-intensity, fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in marketplaces, SaaS, or construction/infrastructure/energy materials
• Exposure to AI-driven operations or procurement automation
• Familiarity with cross-border trade and international supplier management
