Director of the Student Success Center

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for student success initiatives, including advising, academic support, and retention strategies.
• Lead the implementation of a professional advising model and oversee academic support services such as tutoring and the Testing Center.
• Design and implement proactive advising and case management strategies to support student persistence and degree completion.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate professional staff within the Student Success Center.
• Manage student transition and success efforts, with a specific focus on transfer students and international student academic support.
• Utilize student success technologies and data to monitor trends in retention, progression, and engagement.
• Collaborate with faculty, academic leadership, and campus partners to ensure a coordinated student experience.

Requirements

• Master's degree in education, counseling, higher education administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in student success, advising, retention, or related student support functions in higher education.
• Demonstrated experience supervising professional staff and leading student-facing teams.
• Experience with proactive advising, case management, or structured student success initiatives.
• Valid NC Driver's License and a clear driving history.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate or terminal degree.
• Experience with TRIO programs or federally funded access initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and academic leadership.
• Commitment to inclusive student success practices and the education of women.
