Director of the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic

Responsibilities

• Direct the Elmhurst University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic (SLHC), including scheduling client sessions, student therapy, and clinical faculty supervision.
• Manage clinic administration, including HIPAA compliance, budget management, clinic correspondence, and policy implementation.
• Teach academic and practicum courses across undergraduate and graduate programs during fall, spring, and summer semesters.
• Supervise students conducting speech-language therapy and diagnostic evaluations, including reviewing lesson plans, SOAP notes, and clinical reports.
• Mentor students through weekly meetings to discuss clinical performance and professional development.
• Perform service duties such as attending professional conferences, assisting with graduate admissions, and maintaining ASHA certification and Illinois licensure.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent).
• Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Current Illinois licensure.
• At least five years of full-time clinical experience.
• Previous clinical supervision experience.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Previous experience as a Clinic Director in an accredited program.
